Deer Deer Deer

Well, it might be fun to look at deer from the back door, but it is NOT fun to look at one while you van is hitting it! We were coming back from Ga. the other night and a deer ran right into our van. Nobody was hurt and the van doesn't have too much damage. I just thank the Lord we are ok.

I Just Gotta Tell It And Show It!!!

Ingles had triple coupons this week up to $.50, the only thing about it is that you only get to triple 3 coupons per $10.00. I did need some things and I did bargain shop on the items I did need. I also picked up a few items for one of my friends to help get my order up. See below for the great prices I paid for the things in the picture. Not all of the things I bought are shown, just the great deals.

Organic Milk $2.00 per gallon (short expiration date, but I did freeze 1 gal)

2 cans green beans $.10 a piece after coupons

3 boxes crunch n munch $.03 per box after coupons

2 bags of wacky mac pasta free after coupons

1 bag no yolk noodles free after coupons

3 bottles of Worchestershire sauce free after coupons

1 box zip lock bags $.80 after coupons

3 boxes of Captain Crunch Cereal $.50 per box

3 bottles liquid coffee mate $.68 per bottle after coupons

Pam spray $1.50 (I think)

1 box popcorn free after coupons

2 cans Rotel tomatoes $.30 or so per can

So, you are looking at a total of $10.73 if I added correctly. Not too shabby, makes up for my K-Mart run the other day!

Our Big Backyard

Melanie, Melanie, what do you see? At least 4 deer looking back at me! 4 deer graced our land this morning to nibble in our compost pile and find other little treats in the neighbor's backyard. Melanie was the first to sight the animals and yelled for everyone else to come see. We enjoyed watching them from our back door. They casually walked around grazing. Michael stated he saw 6, but I only saw 4. He could be right, but they were camouflaged well with the trees and ground.

Frugal Snow

This is all we get? Oh, well. The kids really did enjoy being out in it. They didn't say one negative thing about it. I didn't either, but I sure thought it.
What a small snowman, but the kids enjoyed making it. The head fell off when Michael was walking, so Madison had to hurry and put another one on.

The most fun of all was them playing on the slippery trampoline.
Michael throwing a handful of snow at Madison.

My deal at K-mart

Well, I don't think the Kmart trip was worth it, but I did find out that their prices are outragious. I only go in there a couple of times a year when they seem to have a really good sale. There is no way I would make it a habit to shop for hygiene items or cleaning supplies there. I was able to get this for a little over $10.00. I don't know what happened because I thought it would be around $6.00. The only thing is that I didn't NEED any of it except for the soap.

Bi-Lo, Wal-Greens, and Rite Aid

Well, unless I did something wrong, the Rite Aid deal isn't as cheap as I thought it would be, but it's still an AWESOME deal. I was able to get 2 packs of diapers, 2 containers of wipes and after coupons it was around $24.00. After I receive the $10.00 check from them and $4.00 back from the rebates I will have paid $10.00. I know have a great gift for a great gal I know.

Bi-Lo-
7 packs of Betty Crocker potatoes
3 bags of Doritos (gotta feed the troops with they come and help clean and paint the new house)
5 boxes of Heartland pasta
3 boxes of Domino's confectioners sugar (for a fund raiser at church)
1 Bunny bread (not on sale)
1 Soft Scrub
4 packs Borden shredded cheese
14 boxes Green Giant Veggies
6 bags Bird's Eye Steamfresh veggies
1 rotisserie chicken (not on sale just needed supper)

total before savings $96.67
savings $63.10
total after savings $33.57

Wal-Greens
Wal-Greens is so bad about not having what I want in stock. I was going to get free Oust house spray and 2 containers of oatmeal for $.79. What I ended up with was 3 boxes of Equal for $3.00. I can't complain though!

Here's something funny. The manager knows my parents from way back when and therefore knows me. It seems that everytime I try and do a Wal-Greens deal something happens and this manager has to give me a refund or something. I either forget to use my coupons or something is rang up wrong, but it's ALWAYS something. Last night I head in there, grab a cart, truck it down the isle, and there HE was counting money at the beauty counter. I didn't even look his way, but I did smile and kept my head straight ahead toward my goal. He said hello and well as I, but I kept a gettin' it hoping I WOULD NOT have any kind of mishap. After a disappointing run through the store, I get to the checkout and the cashier waits on me. While the transaction is taking place, the phone rings and she proceeds to have a conversation with someone. She hangs up, the manager rounds the corner, she tells him someone is going to come back and get another gallon milk because the one she bought wasn't double bagged and it burst. He is standing there with his hands on his hips rolling his eyes. By that time, I am putting my cart up. I turn, look at him, and say, "MY MILK BURST TOO." He then points to the door and with the other hand still on his hip yells, "GET ON OUT THAT DOOR." I am really laughing by that time (keep in mind we always have some kind of confrontation) and he then seems to remember there ARE customers in the store and says to me, "You come back now, ya hear." I then say something like I will and continue to laugh out the door and to the van. It was a very memoriable moment!!!!! OK, so now you are thinking you won't do a Wal-Greens deal, right? Well, I'll be honest, I do have to think it's a great deal before I even try myself!!!! Maybe the trick is getting to the store on Sunday when the items first go on sale.

Aldi
Did you know that Aldi has whole chickens for the everyday price of $.79 lb? I didn't and I was very happy that I discovered that. I have a microwaveable dish (pampered chef...GREAT investment) that I use to cook chicken in that only takes about 30 min. It is awesome and comes in very handy when we are in a hurry. I love to cook the chicken and then make wraps with the meat. This lasts for several meals.

Wraps (all indredients from Aldi)
20 flour tortillas ($2.25)
whole chicken (around $4.00)
tomatoes (around $2.00)
lettuce (bag lettuce $.99)
cheese (8oz block $1.99)

So for around $12.00 you can have AT LEAST 20 wraps and I am sure you will have some ingredients left.

What a Diaper Deal!!

For those of you who have little ones still in diapers, you really need to take advantage of the deal at Rite Aid. I know I will be doing the deal simply because I have 2 baby showers to attend in the near future. If you do the deal with coupons and rebates, you will be able to get 2 packages of Huggies diapers and 2 containers of wipes for $4.36!! I can not believe it!

Here's what you have to do

Buy 2 packages of diapers($9.99) and use (2) $1.50 coupons from this past week's paper and also buy 2 containers of wipes ($3.69) then use (2) coupons from this past week's paper.

You can then go on-line at Rite Aid, create an account if you don't have one yet, type in the information from your receipt, request your rebate, and you will get $14.00 back! That is a total savings of $18.00. I have NEVER bought diapers that cheap. It doesn't take long at all to get your money back.

Deals Deals and More Deals!

Ya know, I just gotta tell my finds from this weekend. Bloom had triple coupons and we scored BIG! Well, I will tell you, we scored big on the mixed veggies at least. Here's a run down that I can remember of what we got.

3 bags of croutons
4 cans of milk
2 cans Eagle Brand Milk
6 bags steamfresh mixed veggies
6 cans veg-all
9 cans Campbell soup ( I bet it's been years since I have bought Campbell's)
3 cans Chef Boy Ardee
1 box of tea (48 family size)
1 container of frosting
1 big can of turnip greens
1 box of Electrosol tabs
2 containers of Mrs. Dash
2 jars of Pace Picante Sauce

We got all this for around $23.00!!!!

We also took a trip to Kohls and I really enjoyed my trip. Did you know that you can sign your email address up with Kohls and they will send you a $5.00 coupon to be used on anything in the store INCLUDING CLEARANCE??? Oh, man. Now you know I took advantage of that sweet deal. Phil was able to put his email in, so we had 2 coupons and of course we did two separate transactions.

We have a dear friend who is getting married and she is in need of towels. Well, Kohls had there towels on sale for $3.99 and the washcloths were $1.99. THEN when you bought 1 you could get another for $1.00. We left the store with 3 towels, 3 washcloths, and a maternity dress (NO, NOT FOR ME) for $8.00 and a few cents!!!!! The dress was regularly $49.00 and was clearanced down to $4.90! I really hope the person that I bought it for can wear it. I want to thank my friend Michelle who told me about signing up your email address. It was well worth the time I took to fill the information out.

Here are a few things on sale this week that you might want to take advantage of. These are not all the sales, just some hightlights.

I was able to buy the 2 books for myself, and a whole set of Amercian Girl Books for a little over $3.00. I used my gift card from MyPoints to help buy them. It was well worth all the clicking. I have enough of points to cash out again for another $25.00 gift card. I'm thinking about choosing Amazon again.

Tidbit of Information

Wal-Greens has milk for $2.99 I think, limit 2. I ended up getting 2 gal. milk, 2 pints Ben and Jerry's icecream, and 1 box of Electrasol tabs for around $5.00! The amount includes the rebate I will be getting back from the Electrasol.

You know what I think is funny? I am so frugal about things, we are even buying a house on the cheap! With a few things to work on, the house is going to be great. I will finally have my front porch that I can put a swing on!

CHRISTMAS STUFF 75% OFF!!!

If you haven't done so already, you might want to think about hitting the stores for Christmas savings. I was able to get 200 sq. ft. wrapping paper for $1.25 at Wal-mart. I also got cards, and a wreath. I really, really, really, want some pre-lit garland to put out, but I waited too late for the good stuff at Wal-Mart. I'm still holding out and maybe I will get lucky tomorrow. Melanie was able to get a $20.00 digital camera at Wal-Greens for $5.00 with some of her Christmas money. Madison bought 2 sweatshirts (one for herself and one for a friend) for a grand total of $6.40. I'm teaching my babies right! Now, if I can get them to understand not to spend it ALL on the deals ...:-)

FREE ICECREAM!!!!

What a great way to begin a new year. I can tell you how to get you some free Ben and Jerry's ice cream! Go here and sign up for a $3.00 coupon and then go use it at Food Lion. It's rumored that the ice cream is on sale for $3.00, so how cool is that? I love starting the new year off like this. Maybe it's a sign of a great frugal year. You know, I am really considering getting a couple of other people to print it off for me so Michael will have free ice cream for his birthday that's coming up in Feb. (shhh, he doesn't have to know that). Ok, I still can't get over seeing how much I can get for free or nearly free! It's a great free hobby!

By the way, I was able to use my points from mypoints to order about 8 books off of amazon with a $25.00 gift certificate. I ended up adding about $4.00 to the order. NOT BAD AT ALL!
