sickness
I didn't realize how many times a 4 year old can cough in one minute. Everyone in the family seems to be a little sick. I am taking my 4 year old to the Dr. in a few minutes. She has been running a slight fever, runny nose, and cough cough cough...oh, did I mention she's been coughing? A dear friend informed me to put Vicks vapor rub on the bottom of her feet before she goes to bed to help with the coughing. Last night we did this, and it really worked! It didn't seem to work as well today while she has been up playing. I still am going to ask the doctor for a Rx. I assume they will not give her anything else, however it would be nice for her to be able to get some rest for the coughing. She stated her chest and belly hurts and it is probably her muscles. Well, I am off of here to take the kiddies to the Dr. They will be happy because they will get stickers...ahhh the simple pleasures in life. Just give me a good cup of hot coffee!

The DOGS OUT!!!!!!
Madison had a friend to spend the night, so the girls were giggling to almost 11:00pm. That is late for us considering we go to bed no later than 9:00pm. Well, wouldn't you know it, they decide to get up even before the sun is up? I quietly asked them several times to please, please, please be quiet and not wake anyone else up. I must be honest, I enjoy laying in bed on Saturdays, even if I am not sleeping. I ventured out around 8:30am and of course all the kids were ready to play, play, play. Where does the energy come from? Phillip was so sweet and made everyone stewed apples and waffles. Once everyone got full, the toys outside began to call and also Michael's new pup. Michael received a beagle puppy, named Slyder for Christmas and all of us love him to pieces.
Well, Michael took care of Slyder and let him inside this morning. We have found that he enjoys animal crackers, we gave him his treat along with a little lesson of learning to "sit". Slyder was enjoying his romp in the house and in the mean time Phil and Michael left to go to the Pinwood Dirby race with the cubscouts. After Melanie and I had a tea party, Madison and her little friend talked me into going outside to see what they made. I start looking for Slyder and guess what? He was NOT in the house! I start to panic and the girls head outside to yell for him. Once I threw on a coat I ran outside worried that he was gone for sure in the woods hunting a rabbit. Thank the Lord he was visiting the neighbors yard sniffing something. The girls get him and try to put him in his pen and.....you guessed it, he slips away once again and off down in the woods he goes. I finally get smart and get animal crackers and his leash. I go to the edge of the woods and he is sniffing once again. Once I get down in the woods a little and once the briars have caught my pants, coat, and hands I finally bribe him to me with the wonderful smell of animal crackers. I get his leash on him and we finally get him back in the house. All I can say, is that I really appreciate whoeover bought the animal cookies for Phillip for Christmas. Now, what do we do? It's only 11:45am!!!
